| Got
to the Spectrum at 2. Picked up our tickets and got in line and waited
there until 4 when they were letting us in. It wasnt that bad of a wait
in line since we talked to the three guys behind us the whole time.
They
sat us down in seats and this guy came over (my husband! lol claire)
and told us all the rules of the soundcheck, no pictures was like the
only rule really. We stayed seated for a little while longer while Alex
was drumming, and then Aaron and Allesandro came out and then Jeordie,
then Trent who I didnt even recognize at first. Then we were allowed to
go up to the baracade. It was very awkard walking up to the band while
they are already on stage, and Jeordie is so strange he just stares you
down as your walking up, of course Trent is hiding from us getting
drinks of water and stuff, he didnt turn around until we were all in
place. Claire and I were perfectly in front of Trent!
The list of songs for the soundcheck:
1.Dead Souls
2.The Frail 3.The
Wretched 4.Wish 5.Deep
Before they did Deep, Trent said "and this next classic is a request"
and sometime before that he said about the lights " (insert dudes name
here) , remind me to talk to you about these uhhh, super mario lights
we've got going on" all in the monotone Trent way of speaking. Trent
was also moaning into the microphone stand and rubbing it up and down
and then looked at us suprised and said "oh, eh, i was just checking
something out" ..yeah that was VERRRRYY NICE. At the end he said "this
is much more awkard for us than for you because the lights are on and i
feel all naked and exposed" then some girl yelled out "you fucking
rock with or without lights on" and all Trent did was give a half assed
embarrassed smirk and wave and then walked off the stage.
Back to our seats for 2 and a half hours. At least we were inside sitting instead of outside standing
When we were let back down onto the floor we ended on the side where Aaron stands/falls/kicks/jumps/breaks/throws shit.
Death From Above 1979 were...quite boring . Queens
of the Stone Age were good, but I just dont like their music, except
that one catchy song they had thats okay. The singer was saying funny
stuff but then he started to annoy me I dont know why. Probably because
I wanted him to shut the fuck up so that NIN could come on! I did like
how he stopped to comb back his hair hahahahaha
Setlist:
1. pinion 2. love is not enough 3. you know what you are? 4. terrible lie 5. the line begins to blur 6. march of the pigs 7. something i can never have 8. the frail 9. the wretched 10. closer 11. burn 12. gave up 13. eraser 14. right where it belongs 15. beside you in time 16. the collector 17. wish 18. only 19. even deeper 20. dead souls 21. suck 22. hurt 23. the hand that feeds 24. head like a hole
During
Closer in the begining Aaron and Trent fell into an amp and Trent
landed right on his ass, but he got back up and then ran to the edge of
the stage and jumped down and got into the crowd. When he got back up
on stage he asked "Who was that I was just making out with.. male or
female?"
People who saw it are saying it was a girl, too bad I'd have liked to
see some pics of Trent making out with a dude.
Something I
Can Never Have was brilliant. I was so glad they did that song at
this show because they didn't do it at the last show i was at.
Eraser, Right
where it belongs, and Beside you in time were really great, with the
curtains down and videos playing on them. The whole place was silent
for Right Where It Belongs just watching the images on the screen, but
when pictures of Bush came up everyone boo'ed.
Trent gave a shout out to PA before HLAH, which people say that he doesn't do very much at shows.
so bottom line, the show kicked major ass. can't want to see them again!

| so many concerts coming up:
Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, KMFDM, Primal Scream, Echo and the Bunnymen. woohoo gonna be fun, expensive as shit but fun!
a new song from the new Depeche Mode album was leaked a few days ago, its absolutely amazing!
HARRY POTTER!!!

Claire and I went to the bookstore at around 10:30, put our names on the waiting list, because we are assholes and didnt pre-order. so we walked around a bit, sat in the sex book section because it was completely vacant, until some cunts came and decided to be ridiculously annoying, so we left and went to the next vacant section which was like the sci-fi/fantasy section or something. by this time it was 12:30 and we were really tired and upset because we had heard from people that if we didnt pre-order we probably wouldnt get our books that night.
we sat there complaining about how we should have pre-ordered for awhile, then these two guys came back over to us and asked me if i needed a pre-order ticket, i was like yeah, but my friend needs one too, and he was like well my friend has one he doesnt need too. so we totally scored pre-order tickets without havig to pay the preorder fee and also got 40% off the book they were lining up numbers 251-300 when we got the tickets and we were ticket number 386, and 387 so we didnt have to wait too long either. so that was fantastic!
so we got out books, went outside like shaking because we were insanely excited. we manged to open the books and read the chapter names, freaked out again, when i got home i read to chapter 4 then needed to sleep because my eyes were burning out of my skull but i finished the book the next day, i'm not going to write anything of what happened in it because i have no idea who reads my page and i dont want to spoil it. but it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was really good too, very funny, and the story was different than the original, which was a suprise because I thought it was just a remake.

 ummmmm.....riiiiight...well moving on...

| Me, Claire, and her Mom got to the Factory at around 3 and waited in line for four hours to be let in. So worth the wait. The show was incredible. Trent sounded perfect, and might I add, his ass looked verrrry nice. And in the begining of the show he pulled up his shirt a little bit, omg *orgasm* and he has on a button down shirt and the buttons were realllly coming undone, the shirt was like halfway undone by the end of the concert. NICE FUCKING CHEST, so defined. his arms are way huge in person too. Here is the setlist
01 - beside you in time (intro) 02 - the frail 03 - the wretched 04 - you know what you are? 05 - the line begins to blur 06 - march of the pigs 07 - piggy 08 - terrible lie 09 - burn 10 - closer 11 - reptile 12 - the big come down 13 - gave up 14 - the day the world went away 15 - no, you don't 16 - suck 17 - even deeper 18 - wish 19 - hurt 20 - the hand that feeds 21 - starfuckers, inc. 22 - head like a hole
During Head Like A Hole Trent got really pissed off that about his microphone going off for a second that he screamed "somethings going to get broken" well he more like really scarily growled it. Then he threw his guitar into the lighting setup behind the stage, which supposedly caused one of the panels to fuck up and only light up on the top part. Then he threw microphone stands arond and went over to his keyboard rig and thought about throwing that but then changed his mind, then he stomped around the stand like a god damn mad man for like a minute. It was amazing, I never thought I'd witness Trent destroying the stage like the old days. During Piggy Trent got into the crowd for awhile it was awesome, but i was on the other side of the stage. Here are pictures of that someone else took of Trent in the crowd:

Hurt was stunning, Trent played the keyboard right in the center of the stage with the lights shining on him and the crowd was so loud singing along with him. This concert was literally a dream come true
"March of the Pigs The ending of the song. Reznor is singing each of the last few lines, one by one. In anticipation for the final line, the crowd sang it without waiting for Reznor. In stead of overshadowing the crowd participation on the last line, Trent kind of backed away from the mic and with what seemed to be a smile and let us have that one. I thought that was a great moment in the exchange between nin and the audience." SOMEONE POSTED THAT AT THE ECHOING THE SOUND MESSAGE BOARD. THANK YOU I HAD FORGOTTEN ALL ABOUT THAT UNTIL I READ IT.
OH AND THE BEST THING SOMEONE SAID TO DESCRIBE THE SHOW:
"wednesdays night show was merely a warm-up to the chaos that would ensue on thursday. wednesday night was a campfire compared to thursday nights inferno."
fuck yeah, i was at the thursday night show.
i bought this poster at the show also:

edit: my pictures i took didnt come out so good but here is the link to them http://community.webshots.com/user/swine617 the Nine Inch Nails section of course
here are two links from "killitallaway" at the echoing the sound forum http://www.picturetrail.com/ninphilly http://www.picturetrail.com/ninphilly2
their pictures turned out reallllly good. but i had a crappy disposable camera. but hey, if i can see trent even a tad in my pics it works for me!!! | | |

The concert was on Thursday (may 12th).Claire and I got to the TLA at 5:30 or 6 I cant remember. But point it we had major time to kill until the show, doors were at 9. So we hung around outside the TLA for awhile, until we noticed that Will Sergeant was standing outside very near us talking to some people. We left at that point haha, we didnt want to interrupt him, and we didnt want to stand there staring either. So we walked a little bit down the street went into a store then we were just standing around talking again when we noticed someone jog out of the TLA and across the street right into a food place right next to where we were standing. We stand there and stare and eachother for a moment and then we realize "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS MAC!" so we freaked out for a moment, and we walked back across the street so we could stare at him getting his food. Again, we didnt want to bother him because he was busy buying food, not time for annoying fans, haha. Then he ran back across the street with a cheesesteak (figures) and a drink. After I helped fund a crack habbit me and claire got in line for the show. Then we stand in line forever, until they post signs up that say we can have cameras when everyone thought that we could. (UGGGGGGH!) then we were finally allowed in, and they let us in with cameras as long as we didnt use them.
The first band to play was called "eleven eleven" Their music was actually good, it reminded me alot like the Cure, but you couldnt hear the guys voice. But they werent bad, thank god.
Then it was time for Echo and the Bunnymen. After all of their drinks were in place, which took longer than the clean up of the last band, and the sound check, they took the stage.Mac sounded, and looked great! They opened up with "Going Up" then "With a Hip" and then "Seven Seas" and then "Buried Alive" i dont know the correct order of all the rest of the songs, but I know the songs. Mac's dancing was very very nice, along with his hand gestures. ahem. They sang a new song called "In The Margins" it was awesome, I can't wait for the new album and to see them live again. During the last song (Ocean Rain) everyone else was taking pictures and they werent having their cameras taken away so i took mine out and took a few pictures, i think about 4. I'll post them up when I get the film developed. oh and, Mac said the cheesesteak sucked. haha
